A Mastering Overview

Mastering is as much a communication process as it is a technical process - it is the last chance to make any final adjustments to your recordings that help your ideas translate to the listener.

In simple terms, mastering is the process of assembling a potentially diverse set of mixes into a cohesive final product.  Level and equalization are optimized to suit the artist's intentions and the release format; and tracks are sequenced, spaced, edited and faded as necessary to create a seamless listening experience.
